  • Rasha ABOUJEIB obtained a Bachelor from the Faculty of Law at Damascus University in 2008.

  • Rasha has a remarkable experience in the field of IP as she worked at the Syrian IP Office for 11 years.

  • She also wrote an excellent article about Geographical Indications which was published at Social Science Research Network SSRN (https://papers.ssrn.com/sol3/papers.cfm?abstract_id=2922227).

  • Rasha joined Karawani law Firm in 2017 with a position of Head of Intellectual Property Department.

  • Since joining the Firm Rasha has become the head of the Intellectual Property Department.

Relevant Experience

  • Specialized in IP (Intellectual Property) including Trademarks, Designs, Copyright, Patents and Domain Names registration & prosecution.

  • Involved in business decisions relating to the protection of intellectual property rights and other related matters.

  • Maintain patent and trademark files and calendars, ensuring completeness, accuracy and that all due dates are met.

  • Advice and representation across the entire spectrum of IPRs including Trademarks, Copyright, Patents and Design rights.

  • Coordinate, set-up and overall maintain IP Portfolio inclusive of Trademarks, Contracts, Copyrights, Patents, Designs and Oppositions.

  • Perform prior search for Trademarks and give professional advices on the chances of successful registration.

  • Involved in drafting corporate and commercial agreement.

  • Any issue related to IP consultancy.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor in Law from/Damascus University.

  • M. Master in Intellectual Property Law/Turin University.

  • General Course of Intellectual Property/WIPO Academy/Geneva.

  • Advanced course on arbitration and mediation procedures under the WIPO rules/WIPO Academy/Geneva.

  • Advanced course in Intellectual Property Management/WIPO Academy/Geneva.

  • Advanced course on Basics of Patent Drafting/WIPO Academy/Geneva.

  • Advanced course on Copyright / Harvard Law School.

  • Preparation course in Management/INA (Institute National d’Administration).
