• Raed Karawani has extensive experience advising international companies in the banking and financial sector. Besides that, Raed has wide experience drafting and advising on complex international agreements. Raed has been awarded end of 2009 the International Bar Association Fellowship Award for his achievements.

• Raed graduated with LL. B from Beirut Arab University in Lebanon, he continued his education in the UK, he obtained an LL.M in International Commercial & Business Law, graduate with Merit from University of East Anglia in Norwich, UK. Raed acquired several diplomas from the London College of law in Loans & Capital Markets, mergers and Acquisitions, international business law.

• Raed also specialized in Intellectual Property, he handles advising on IP Portfolio management, registration and IP Litigation.

Relevant Experience

• Licensing and advising different banks in Syria, Islamic and conventional.

• Handling several big litigations for well-known trademark owners.

• Advising on major financing deals, involved in many financing deals for international banks with private and government sector.

• Advising on 140 M USD Syndicate Loan financing, including reviewing the Facility Agreement, the Condition precedent, securities and applicability.

• Negotiating waste treatment projects, advising on the first project on CDM, Clean Development Mechanism under the Kyoto Protocol 2009 – 2010 for a Japanize client.
